Well... this is an ongoing build that I have lost slight interest in...  I started with a '93 Geo tracker 4x4 8V that was a daily driver, then after getting a new truck, I turned the geo into a complete wheeling beast. This crazy conversion was done by adding coil spring spacers front and rear and puting new tires on it. This was an awesome wheeling machine.  I then decided that I wanted to make a tube body out of it, so I cut the beat up rear half of the body off at the firewall (leaving the floorpan) and began making a tube body. I took the geo to the dunes with this tube body and the 31" Toyo Open Country AT's and it was a blast, but man did I have tire rub in the front.

Fast forward a year.  Got all excited to lift the geo to aleviate tire rub... then decided if I was gonna do that I might as well get bigger tires.... Ordered a set of 33x13.5x15 Pitbull Rockers.  (of course I had to put them on my stock geo... i figured you would ask...)
Now I made a true double wishbone front suspension using a lengthened front coil spring on the upper (stock) A arm. This A arm was left in the stock position and I fabed a lower A arm mount 6" directly below the stock mounts for a second (stock) A arm.  I then made a second ball joint mount on the spindles and lower the front diff.  This front lift provided about 9" of lift in the front over stock and I moved the front axle point forward approx. 3"  All clear... no rubbing up front...  for the rear I welded the stock 3rd member and made a 4 link lift with Jeep XJ coils.  The geo is now rocking and looking completely badass.

Pulled the geo out of the garage (had to hold the 7' garage door open completely with a 2x4 to make the geo clear the top of the door by 1/2".  Drove around the yard a bit.... it was awesome.... gave it a little throttle up a hill.. SNAP!!! boom goes the first CV.... CV replaced on passenger side.... worked fine for 2 days till I hit the mud... SNAP! same CV again......

put it back in the garage and got out the sawzall... STUPID IFS>>>

5 minutes later I now had no IFS or IFS mounting brackets on the frame.... and no plan....  well I decided since I already have umpteen billion sets of geo rims and tires that are 5x5.5" bolt pattern that I need to find a Solid axle with that same bolt pattern....

It just so happened I had a 1997 dodge Ram 1500 with some DANA 44's on it... out came the sawzall again....

2 days later we now have a geo tracker with 4 link and coils front and rear with 14" of suspension travel.... clearance to run 40" tires with no rub and a serious lack of muscle....  after much pondering and driving around with only 2WD (some dumbass didnt think to hard on the axle choice, dodges have driver side pumpkins) I decided I needed more umpph and not lower gears... out came the 1.6L drivetrain.... and there she sits in the barn with no engine...

I need some more inspiration.... what has happened to my awesome wheeling machine?? it once was more fun than I could ever imagine and now it has become a....? rockcrawler? prerunner? i have no idea??

I think I have hear that called "Scope Creep" before... either way as long as your having fun who cares.. I think you need a V6 or V8 in there to spin those meets and throw mud 30 ft in the air...just sayin...

One issue is the drive-line drop.  You pretty much need to go to a different t-case, so you might as well just jump to a new motor and transmission at the same time.

I like your suspension idea though.  That is a neat way to lift it, adding a sub-frame for a new a-arm.

yeah about that mud slinging... idk if you can see it but I can slide a sheet of plywood between the back of the tire,  they are all completely outside the body!!  I might need some 14" fender flares.

BTW the tires are going on another geo that i got yesterday.... its stock now, the only mods I plan are armor and stuffin in the 33x13.5x15's
