I Just bought my first Suzuki Samurai, I got it and the clutch was bad so I replaced it. Problem is I cant seem to get the transmission back in. I know I'm missing something simple. Can anybody Give me a pointer or two?

Did you use something to line up the clutch disk
there isn't any secret to the install

Uhh, no you don't.  If the tranny came out without pulling the engine, it will go back in without pulling it.  I have removed and replaced trannys without pulling the engine, it is a very tight fit, but it can be done.  Another trick is to notch (or bend) the front edge of the flat plate on the tranny crossmember, that will allow you just enough room to make the tranny R&R much easier.

Cool I thought I may have to. I ment not pull the engine just move it. Maybe a 1/2 inch forward. I will also trim the tranmission mounting plate. Thx that was helpfull.

You just take an angle grinder with a cutoff wheel and take the front 3/8" to 1/2" off the leading edge of the mounting plate on the transmission crossmember... It makes all the difference in the world when dealing with taking it out or re-installing it...
