My Trail Tough bumpers are nice but their high-clearance design meant less coverage for road debris. Here's a bunch of pics of how I did it. Used some heavy truck mud flap material, Pacer's 52-192 heavy-duty, wire-reinforced 1-3/4" mini-truck flexy fender flares, some reinforced rubber material as my new front fender liners, and for the rear I used some "J" molding like they use to install mirrors in a bathroom and some flat aluminum, all riveted together. LOTS of short metal screws and flat-washers.
Lined everything up with clothespins:
Hot scratch awl to poke holes:
Bent this tab flat:
Added a bracket here:
Then a heavy mud flap material, level with the bottom of the frame:
Front finished:
Rear:
same 2" spacing of screws on the fender flare.
piece of flat aluminum, with a slight bend at the top where it screws to the metal fender:
"J" molding to hold the flap in place:
Mud flap, like the front, is level with the bottom of the frame.
All riveted together:
Rear finished:
Removable mud flaps:
Used grey PVC pipe and a quick-release pin
Of course, got to represent with the ZW banner!
