Sweet Home, OR – We have seen this event change venue at least three times and it still remains a strong draw for the areas’ mud freeks. For us, it had been several years since we attended one of the “Mudfests” as they have become to be known. There was a lot of fun action to be seen and a surprising amount of Suzuki 4×4′s there. From stock to highly modified, Samurai and Sidekick was represented well. Our favorite was the ‘sleeper’ Samurai complete with dealer add-on brush guard and teenie tiny winch being piloted by a group of girls intent on mud draggin’ jeeps. That’s the spirit! 	LaPine, Oregon – This year’s overland adventure, known as the Fall Classic, was a bit different. Instead of going to the Christmas Valley dunes which are always fun but a little be too far out, we opted to try a new area just south of base camp. This area called the Winter Ridge is south of Ft. Rock and west of Summer Lake. A dramatic ridge sprouting high above the desert floor, the weather, climate, vegetation  everything is quite different to the surrounding areas. One of the best portions of the Oregon Back Country Discovery route goes through here which we ran several years ago and we’ve always wanted to return to. This year was the year to return. 	CLACKAMAS, OR – We recently were invited to the unveiling of WARN’s newest offering. The Zeon winch series is described as the next generation of winches. The press material uses words like modern rugged design, upgraded internal components, increased performance and durability; all of which are true. However, we were even more struck by the passion and commitment of the company to improve and upgrade a product that already performs head and shoulders above the competition. At the onset of the press conference a literal handful of parts were triumphantly raised into the air and it was proclaimed that this new winch has been redesigned to the extent that only these few parts are shared with previous winch families. 	Taylor Park, CO – Suzuki 4×4 enthusiasts from around the U.S. converged on a small reservoir in the beautiful state of Colorado to visit and explore this storied and wondrous area. The seed idea for this adventure was planted about two years earlier during ‘Zukfari when I had a conversation with Blake Savage about the interesting places he and some of his family would go to for summer vacations. The more he talked about it; the more I became interested in putting together and adventure. After bouncing emails and phone calls back and forth for a couple of months, the plan was hatched and a date was set. Next stop would be Taylor Reservoir, Colorado. Suzuki 4×4 Colorado Adventure
	Fields, OR - A few years ago we set out on a grand adventure to find theconvergence of the Oregon, California, and Nevada state boundary lines. That exploration was so enjoyable not for finding the actual spot on the ground where the states met but for seeing all of the stuff along the way. That trip definitely reaffirmed that it is truly the journey and not the destination that fulfills. So, the thought arose as the where we’d try to go next and the obvious choice was to follow the Oregon border further east and pick the next convergence of state boarders. That’s what we did and that where we went. High Desert Exploration.
	Reno, NV – The ZUKIWORLD Challenge 2011 season kicked off at the inaugural Master Pull USA 500 during an unseasonably cool July weekend. Six teams, ranging from experienced to brand new, and reigning from Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and California converged on this new Vorra sanctioned event and began their assault on this new to us and new to Vorra 500+ mile course located just to the east of Reno, Nevada. 	Blackfoot, ID – One of the key points of the ZUKIWORLD Challenge desert racing series is to provide an affordable alternative for those that are excited and passionate about racing but may not have the cubic dollars required to compete in most of the current desert racing classes. The 4-B Motorsports team is no stranger to racing with several builds and successful seasons with championships in circle track racing, the team was looking for a venue to expand their racing knowledge and have a little fun along the way. 	Minneapolis, MN – Last Year I bought a 2001 Chevrolet Tracker from the classifieds right here on ZW. It was rough and I knew it, but it ran and drove, so it had to be worth $800 right? A couple hundred miles later the motor let go in a big way. I was bummed at first but after I got over my flawed investment I decided to turn a lemon into lemonade. It has always frustrated me that Chevrolet / Suzuki had all the key components to putting a great off-road package together for the Tracker/Vitara but never did. The closest they ever came was the ZR2 which, in my opinion, fell way short. I would have built a 2 door with, a V6, steel front diff, the much larger XL7 rear diff, XL7 brakes, 5.12 gear ratio and 33 inch tire. I decided to do just that. This is where the Project ZR3 begins.
